A few years ago when I was listening to Sigur Ros a lot, maybe in 2005 I found Mar on MySpace somehow and came to really appreciate them. It’s one of the few bands that I know of and recommend that I’ve actually contacted personally, or at least written to someone who worked with the band. This song A Celebration is my favorite song of theirs for sure. Although I appreciated them before this album was released. I think this is their 2nd studio album which was recorded in the US. The 1st being recorded in Iceland with some help from Sigur Ros actually. When I bought their album I could listen to this song on repeat and my imagination would go crazy. Made me feel like I was having a spiritual experience, maybe I was. The music video itself was fairly well produced and makes for good company.

Most of Mar’s songs have a slower and more gentle development and feel than this song, but their music makes for good listening. Although I wouldn’t recommend playing it at a party unless you wanted everyone to either leave or fall asleep. I recommend listening to more of their songs on MySpace, particularly their songs Icarus and Lover.
