From musically rich families and with high reaching hearts Rebecca Scheja and Fiona Fitzpatick have captured Sweden and also the international DJ scene. Rebecca and Fiona’s electronic is progressive and intricate. With an ambiance suitable for two innocent looking Swedish girls and an addictive pumping electro-synth bite, the duo have no problem rocking and charming the socks off the masses. Lips Songs brings the gentle casio synth into the background of our day like a soft breeze on a cool august evening. The minimalistic and humble pace of this Brooklyn New York solo artist is true easy listening. There’s a slight Corrine Bailey Rae cuteness that is inexorable but pleasant and brings an sweet innocence to the tracks. You could just reach out and pinch the song’s cheeks.

The Shoes is a two man electronic music group from Reims, France. Their debut album crack my bones just came out and is a synthed up electro beat pumper with many tracks that fans of Calvin & Harris would love.

From the San Francisco California/ Hason Ohio based duo electronic music group Andain springs a fount of light-weight beautiful trance music that is perfect for the soft sound music lover. Their soft airy vocals and music box chimes paint dreamy love songs and emotive soundscapes. Many of their other tracks fall square into the dance trance genre with steady pulsing drum beats and long fade-in fade-out synth intros and pumping heartbeats with high-hat accompaniment. However, this song Promises, along with the rest of the songs on their soon to be released full debut album should prove more diverse than their previous works that they began with when they were first founded in 2001. The group has recollected and I’m looking forward to the rest of what their new album.

Andain’s new sound movement is familiar to fans of Imogen Heap, M83, Kate Havnevik and other creators of love inducing electronic music appropriate for any fantasy film, authors of deeply emotive and powerful music who tend to incorporate more classical instruments and more classical vocal elements.

Indie Rock Band The Wombats are a 3 man group from Liverpool England that started in 2003. They’ve released two albums which you can hear on their website and MySpace page. You can also follow them on Twitter.

Great music video and great song! The music video is a compilation of left-over footage from a recording that was picked up and integrated into a visual editing program that sliced it up into this amazing animation. Theses guys do a fantastic job of taking the best of indie, rock, electronic, and new wave sound and compiling it into this killer track.

The song is about a guy who’s invited by a girl to join her at a techno concert, although it’s not his sound, he ends up going and realizes he’s a techno fan, which is a funny thing to sing about when the song itself isn’t a techno song, but maybe the point isn’t so much that he’s realizing that he likes techno music, but rather that he’s fallen in love with a girl who loves techno music.

German rapper Marteria (aka Marsimoto) released his first album in 2007 but has been touring as a singer performance artist since at least 2002. His music may not be so well known in the US because it is in German, but this is great stuff! The music video in itself is a huge production feat, but the song in its own right is colossal, heavy, complex, and intelligent.

Morgan Kibby singular talent and creator of White Sea, a new addition to the indie pop music scene. Her voice debuted on M83′s synth pop album Saturdays = Youth, which features one of my favorite songs We Own the Sky.

Whitesea is playful and intimate, invites us to come and join the party, but is also mature and carefully layered. Understanding that Whitesea emerged from the inspired vision of Morgan Kibby waiting patiently to emerge from within her as she taught herself how to use ProTools after touring with M83 in 2008. You can imagine the thoughts one might have while teaching themselves how to use a program while knowing that after understanding how to use it you can create your dreams. Like an violist having to learn how to build their violin before being able to play.

What’s more, her EP titled “The Frontier is available for download for free from the UrbanOutfitter’s website.

Rivers To Roads Master 4 by SongoftheDay

Song of the Day today is Rivers to Roads by the recently formed Australian duo called “Triforce”. Heavy Gameboy synth mixes create the framework for their unique experimental electronic blend of dark pumping tracks dipped in gold by haunting female vocals. The group consisting of Charlotte Lohman and Ryan Smith out of Sydney offer free downloads of songs off their mini-release. While busy in production building their first album this year I believe Triforce is poised to go big on the international indie electronic scene with their combined talents and rare audio combos. I’m looking forward to their next tracks, which based on their variety and uncommon style are sure to hold some surprises.
