Song of the Day

Cameron Mesirow, the creator of Glasser, is new on the music scene. This song of hers was rated #1 track of the week on Pitchfork.com. The music video is untraditional but is just stimulating enough to draw you into the sound of the music and helps you stay for the first one and a half minutes of the song as it builds to its peak.

According to her MySpace page her album “Ring” should be coming out soon, September 27th 2010 to be exact. I think she’ll be well received as her music, sound, and image are close enough to Feist that she may just become huge and have her music on iPod commercials yet. Although, she’s not Feist of course, I think she’s got great potential. The beginning of this song starts out a little eccentrically and slowly builds, but with non traditional sounds that might throw your average American listener off, or make them impatient enough to not get to the loud and more easily digestible part of the song. We’ll find out I guess.

I found a good article on her in the LA Weekly if you’re interested in knowing more about her. I couldn’t find a Wikipedia page on her, which is normally where I go to get discography and bio info on bands.
