Artists love sharing their music for free!

Here’s some places I found that have free music downloads available. When new up and coming bands want to get the word about their band out, one of the best ways is for them to release a free song from their latest album. Because of this, there are tons of free songs out there waiting for you to download them for free. So dig in, and hopefully you’ll find your next favorite song or artist! If you know of anywhere else to get free music downloads, please share them with everyone by adding your comments below.

Last.fm’s free download page has a huge list of free Mp3′s to download from different artists. Some artists have their entire album there for free, and a lot of it is great music. You can preview each song before downloading.

Amazon.com’s Free Music Download ListLots of good stuff here.

Spinner.com is another Song of the Day blog also has a big list of free songs that you can listen to and download for free from indie music artists that are all worthy of a listen.

Magnatune.com has a free Mp3 you can listen to and download if you want for free.

Large Hearted Boy features a long list of free downloadable songs. Vast amount of info, but know that many of the links go to the album’s Amazon.com page.

Everything is free to download for a tweet or facebook post. There are lots of artists including: Lovedrug, Derek Webb, Snowden, Sleeping At Last and my band Awake! Awake!. There is a lot of stuff to check out if you’ve never been there and artists will often put up entire albums for a week or two(I snagged Lovedrug’s Suckerpunched Alternate acoustic album when it was up)
