I came across this music video today by clicking on something in my browser and I don’t even know what it was. I’m glad I found it though. The video itself appears to be a test in which a girl has to prove to her family that dancing is something respectable as an art form in its own right and must gain the approval of her family, especially her father in order to continue dancing. So it’s as though she’s dancing to save dancing, which is a respectable pursuit, and reminds me of scenes from Dirty Dancing and Flash Dance where the protagonists had to dance with passion and heart to win respect or to prove to the world that it’s not some scandalous activity but rather an art in itself. “And now….you are going to dance…like you’ve never danced before!”
This is the single of Kaskade’s latest album Dynasty, I think almost every track on the album features a different vocalist and also involves another producer.
Kaskade, Ryan Radden, is a remixer, producer, and DJ artist. After owning a record store in Utah he moved to San Francisco and submitted his first song to the Record Label he worked for there called Om Records in 2001 and released his first album “It’s You It’s Me” in 2004. Kaskade is now one of the top 100 DJ’s in the world.
